Libraries Implement InfoWorks Link Checker Solutions to Gain Accuracy and Efficiency through Automation of URL Link Management Processes

Sewickley, PA - 12/01/2005 - InfoWorks Technology, a leading innovator of library automation software, today announced that it has licensed its Link Checker software to several libraries. The new users, a mix of public and academic libraries, include Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC), University of Florida George A. Smathers Libraries, Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute and Bolivar R-1 School District.

“With the continual expansion of the Internet, the presence of URL links within bibliographic databases also grows. Given the dynamic nature of websites, this creates a bigger task for libraries in keeping this information up-to-date and accurate,” said Jesse Song of InfoWorks Technologies. “Libraries are finding that they need tools such as Link Checker to help them continue to meet their service objectives. Also, challenged by tight funding, libraries are actively searching for more efficient methods to accomplish the many everyday tasks within their operations,” adds Song. InfoWorks offers a number of such tools within their Librarian’s Toolbox.
