FAQ & Help
1.
Why do I
need
software
for
cleaning
my
Windows
registry?
Your
Windows
registry
is a
critical
element
of your
PC
system,
a large
database
that
supports
normal
computer
operation.
There
are a
number
of
causes
of
registry
problems:
more
common
causes
are
files
left-behind
after
the
un-installation
or
incorrect
removal
of
software,
hardware
drivers
that are
either
missing
or
corrupted,
and
startup
programs
no
longer
in use.
Such
issues
lead to
decreased
PC
performance,
application
errors
and
lockups,
and
computer
crashes.
A
worst-case
scenario
can
cause a
fatal
error,
in which
the hard
drive
must be
completely
reformatted
prior to
the
re-installing
of
Windows
and
other
software,
potentially
resulting
in lost
personal
data and
files.
Windows
registry
problems
have
exploded
with
more
recent
PC use,
as it
becomes
more and
more
common
to both
knowingly
and
unknowingly
have new
software
programs
downloaded
to your
PC.
Having a
computer
systems
professional
provide
a
registry
cleaning
and
repair
service
is an
option.
But that
is an
expensive
approach,
and one
that
likely
would
need to
be used
repeatedly
over
time.
RegDoctor
has put
this
process
into an
easy-to-use
program
that
allows
you to
consistently
maintain
your
system,
before
it
develops
into a
bigger
and more
expensive
problem.
2.

although RegDoctor

I do?

in
normal
font
size. If
you are
using

font for
your
screen
display,

you
are
using
version1.50
or
up,
click
on

menu.
You
will
see

Or
-
2. Change
the

to

run
RegDoctor
again.
4.
Why are
there
redundant
entries
in the
list of
detected
programs
after a
scan?
A file
can be
referenced
many
times in
the
registry
database
for
different
functions.
If the
file is
removed
or
becomes
corrupted,
the
multiple
references
(pointers)
will
become
invalid.
RegDoctor
will
detect
all the
invalid
references.
This is
why you
may see
same
entries
in the
list of
detected
programs
after a
scan.
5.
Can RegDoctor
run
automatically
when I
start my
computer?
Yes.
Check
Run at
Start-up
under
Options
in
Settings.
6.
When I
run the
scanning,
my
system
locks up
or the
scanning
does not
complete.
What can
I do?
It is
recommended
that you
close
down all
the
running
applications
when you
run
RegDoctor.
Restart
your
computer.
Close
down all
the
running
applications.
Rerun
RegDoctor.
First,
choose
Quick
Scan.
7.
Some
detected
problems
were not
fixed.
Why?
RegDoctor
will
usually
fix all
the
detected
problems.
RegDoctor’s
smart
algorithm
may
choose
to leave
the
error in
place
because
multiple
programs
may be
using a
shared
tool and
correcting
this
would
impact
some
programs.
The
threat
level of
the
problems
that
were not
fixed
are
usually
very
low.
To make
sure
RegDoctor
will not
fix a
specific
detected
problem,
you can
also
restart
your
computer
and run
RegDoctor
again.
8.
Why did
a
shortcut
to one
of my
programs
disappear
from my
desktop
and how
can I
get it
back?
If a
shortcut
was not
created
in a
proper
way,
RegDoctor
will
identify
and may
remove
it. If a
shortcut
you need
disappears,
you can
easily
recreate
it. By
recreating
it
correctly,
the
problem
will not
reappear
and help
the
integrity
of the
Registry.

RegDoctor

all the
problems
it

should I
do?
RegDoctor

your

very
effectively
